QUIC (Transaction Ingress)

The transport protocol used by Solana's Transaction Processing Unit (TPU) since validator v1.13, replacing the original UDP-based ingestion. QUIC provides encrypted, authenticated, and flow-controlled connections between clients and leaders. It enables stake-weighted Quality of Service (QoS), where validators allocate connection bandwidth proportional to the sender's stake, mitigating spam and improving transaction landing rates during congestion.
