Compressed Token

An SPL-compatible token whose per-account balances are stored as Merkle tree leaves via Light Protocol's Compressed Token Program, reducing account creation cost from ~0.002 SOL to a negligible fraction of a lamport. Compressed tokens maintain standard mint, transfer, burn, and delegation semantics, but operations require Merkle and validity proofs handled transparently by the program. Ideal for airdrops, gaming economies, and reward systems where millions of token accounts would otherwise impose prohibitive rent costs.
